Aja Smith, Co-Founder and Chair of the BTCO Board, embodies the spirit of encouragement and empowerment. Her unwavering support and belief in Brianna’s dreams were key to making BTCO a reality. A graduate of Eastern Michigan University with expertise in Hotel and Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts, Aja brings a unique perspective to the board. Her professional experiences in the K-12 Ypsilanti Community School District have fueled her drive to give back. Aja’s vision for BTCO is inspired by her desire to nurture, mentor, and mobilize resources for the community, transforming ambitions into impactful actions.
With her nurturing presence, Prisicilla Williams serves as the Secretary of the Board, guiding BTCO with commitment and warmth. As Brianna's mother, Prisicilla has been a part of BTCO since its inception, infusing the organization with her social work expertise and heartfelt dedication. Her passion for arts and crafts is showcased through her business, Kiwi Arts & Crafts 734, where she actively engages with the community at local farmers' markets. Prisicilla's vibrant community interactions and her unwavering support for children with intellectual/developmental disabilities in Wayne County highlight her invaluable contributions to both BTCO and the broader community.
Joining the BTCO Board in late 2023, Dominique Sankey is a powerhouse of collaboration and community advocacy in Taylor. As the owner of Taylor Nutrition and a member of the Rotary Club, Dom channels her business as a vehicle for community engagement. Her initiatives extend beyond selling teas and shakes, as she raises awareness for local events and supports school fundraisers. Since joining BTCO, Dom has been a critical asset, leveraging her entrepreneurial spirit and community connections to enhance BTCO’s impact and outreach initiatives.
An impassioned community advocate, Dawn Jackson brings a wealth of local insight to the BTCO Board, which she joined in 2024. Growing up and raising her family in the Taylor and Lincoln Park communities, Dawn has fostered deep ties, actively participating in the Lincoln Park Community Schools PTA Board. Her commitment to giving back is matched by her enthusiasm for community development and empowerment. Dawn’s engagement with Taylor Nutrition connected her to BTCO, where her passion for serving her neighbors enriches every aspect of our mission.
